COUNTDOWN (2011 Korean Film)

COUNTDOWN to greatness....

Just wanted to start off by saying - I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to bring to your attention a new (new to me) DiD scene worth talking about. It's from the 2011 Korean Film entitled "Countdown".

For starters, there's a lot to cover. At least a lot 'I' want to cover. I tend to go a step further and try to analyze the details of the directing as well as the drama of a scene. In this case I really believe in this bondage scene. I love this short but sweet scene.

I haven't seen the movie in it's entire run, but I stumbled across this GEM of a DiD. There is more than one. However I will be focusing my attention to one in general.

It features 2 actresses. Synopsis... One is captured by the baddies, and another is involved with some bad guys that had something taken by her. Anyway the scene starts with a bound and gagged girl (18ish) in age being held by someone who had some money or something stolen from him. He's holding the girl hostage and the bad guy and his men assemble in what looks like an exchange of some kind. They all drive up on a dark boating dock and drag the bound and gagged girl out of one of the cars. At this point there are no close ups of the damsel and from what I can tell, the bondage isn't great. Here's why. They're about to release her. She's sporting a cleave gag and her hands are loosely tied with a cloth strip. Just before the exchange, she is seen with her hands un-tied still sporting the gag. The other woman arrives wearing a red coat. Some other group of men is holding her by the arms and there is some commotion of a bag of money. The all the men dive after it. The woman in red pleads with the original baddie to "Let her go, she nothing to do with me". The baddie takes them both after her knocks out the woman in red. Confused yet? I think I just confused myself....

Here's where the scene gets really good... IMHO. The 2 women are placed in a room on a large cargo ship. The first shot we see of the struggling is the younger of the 2 women frantically feeling around to grab a knife to cut her bonds with. We can see her hands are bound cross wrist TIGHTLY with what appears to be the cloth strips from before.

Her cleave gag is now VERY tight forcing her mouth open and pinching her cheeks.

The woman in red is shown lying on the floor unconscious with a close up of her face sporting another VERY tight cleave gag. It is then discovered that... You guessed it, Their ankles are also tied with cloth strips... The drama and struggling of the 46 second scene is the best I've seen in a while. it appears to be REAL peril, very convincing. The MPHing from both ladies is Perfect...

The younger girl hops over to the sleeping lady and nudges her to wake her up.

The woman in red is now awake and aware of her situation.

Notice again the VERY tight cleve gag from this angle of the womans face....

The younger girl works hard to cut the bonds of the woman in red first. There's an intense element where she appears to use all of her strength to get them both free,

If you look closely, you can see how very tight the cloth strips are tied from this close up.

Almost cut all the way free... After this the woman in red's arms flop onto the floor with a loud thump. This sells the scene of how TIGHTLY they are tied up.

 

The woman in red is now freed from her bonds. The younger girls legs and ankles can be seen TIGHTLY tied just beyond...

I can only imagine what else this scene could've been if there was more of a beinning to get to where they ended up. I'm not complaining, just wondering.

After anyising this scene, I have thought of a few questions.
1. If the women w're locked away down in the belly of the ship and they we're sealed in a room. Why tie them up? or even gag them? The bad guy must have really wanted them to feel his wrath. Or he's just making them suffer. The gags. Why we're they gagged. I don't think anyone would here them. The bad guys didn't expect the hero to come looking for them. I believe it was all done to create discomfort. LOVE IT!!!!! Very tightly tied and gagged....

I give this scene an all around  A+
I can't stop watching it.....
